Classes & Education

Pre-op Joint Classes
St. Vincent's believes in the power of education, providing a two-hour pre-operative multidisciplinary class that covers everything that the patient needs to know. A review of a patient's joint anatomy will be covered by our physician assistant. Patients will be instructed about pre-op, peri-op and post-op experiences. An operating room nurse will discuss what to anticipate during the hospital stay on the unit post operatively. One of the orthopaedic floor nurses will discuss your rehabilitation program.

Community Lectures (Six times/year)
Bi-monthly education lectures are offered to the general public interested in learning about total joint replacement surgery. These lectures offer an opportunity to learn more about your options, as well as educate and empower patients to make proper decision about surgical and non-surgical treatments available. It also offers an opportunity for referral to one of our many board-certified joint replacement specialists.
